Eternity

1 John 2:17 “ This world is fading away, along with everything it craves.

But if you do the will of God, you will live forever.”

When you live in the light of eternity, your values change. God offers you an opportunity beyond your earthly lifetime. He offers you an opportunity beyond the grave. (The grave, that so many of us look forward to as a place of relief from this life.) But there is more, there is something greater and your spirit knows it, even if your brain doesn’t yet have the knowledge of it. If you visit the tomb of Jesus, you will find that the tomb is empty. Why? Because it is the one place on this earth where there is no death. Millions flock every year to see an empty tomb, where our Lord and Savior has risen from. Hes the only One, He is the only Way…there is no other. God’s plans and purposes endure forever; His purposes are eternal. God, through His Son Jesus, has given the free gift of eternal life, if you believe and accept these truths. John 10:28 ( Jesus speaking ) “ And i give them eternal life; and shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

‍ ‍

This life is not only preparation for the next; but we are to use our authority and subdue the enemy until the enemy is made a footstool under the feet of the body of Christ. Genisis 1:27-28 “ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, “ Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air and over everything that moves upon the earth.”

Jesus said in Luke 10:19 “ I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

‍ ‍

So, there it is, God has given man the authority on this earth. That’s why Jesus ascended into heaven after his resurrection. He no longer had an earth suit. He has a new body, the resurrection body and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Psalm 110:1 “The Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” Christ is still the head; however, we believers must remain the obedient body under the authority of God. We must align ourselves with the WORD and withe the Will of God, while being the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:5  For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” When you fully comprehend that; you will realize that God has a purpose for you. You can live in His will and fulfill your destiny in Him and through Him as well as prepare for eternal life with Him. There is more to life than just the here and now. You will begin to live differently. You can and will start living in the light of eternity now! Your mindset will change; you will notice a difference in the way you handle problems, relationships, tasks and various other situations. Many goals, activities and problems that seemed so important will appear trivial, petty and even unworthy of your attention. The closer you live to God, the smaller everything else appears.

God has planted eternity in the human heart. And Christ is the eternal seed that was planted by the Father. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” It goes on to say, “

Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

It is on thing to know God’s Word in your mind, but it’s another to have it in your heart of hearts. You must love God with your body, soul and spirit. Scripture says in Mark 12:30-31Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

‍ ‍There are two kinds of people living side by side on this earth: those who say “ Thy will be done.” And those to whom God says “ All right then, have it your way.” Tragically, many people will have to endure eternity without God. Because they chose to live an un-repented life, without God on this earth.

Deuteronomy 30:19 says, “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

You have the choice, the decision can only be made by you. Exercise you God given free will carefully. Joshua 24:15 “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, amen!” Romans 6:23

Whether you know it or not, you are already an eternal spirit and before you is the choice of Heaven or Hell. You decide where, as you continue in this life. Romans 10:9-10 speaks of how to accept this free gift of salvation…. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Choose carefully where you will spend eternity. Amen!
